THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST IN YOU

CROOKED THEOLOGY. TWISTED YOU

sefines44

We can be burdened by a misshapen view of ‘god’ and a crooked view of ourselves. Don’t let other people define who you are – particularly if those ‘other people’ are the products of a degraded mindset or a perverted gospel. Being a True Self is easier when you know who you are because the Gospel from which you live is the Gospel of the True Christ and the living way of His building of the authentic you. The Body of Christ is the community of saints who are being set free from ‘this body of death’ and reformed as the expression of Christ who is their life.

THE CREED

The Nicene Creed states that ‘
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human..’

Significantly we become truly human in Jesus Christ.

WHOLENESS IN THE HOLISTIC TRINITY

Jesus Christ is both human and fully God. As a member of the trinity, He is part of the fullness of God, three persons, one God. The referent of Jesus Christ is the trinity – the ‘who’ of who God is. Nothing else and no abstraction like the law denotes the I AM OF GOD. The ultimate reality of the universe and Definer of Life is the Triune God. This is the womb of creation and the Source of our being.

JOINED TO THE ONENESS THAT IS GOD IN JESUS

How does this affect our Christ and our gospel? Thomas Torrance writes, “
It is clear that unless there is an unbroken continuity of divine presence and activity between Christ and God, then in the last analysis, Jesus Christ, with all he stands for, is irrelevant for the ultimate destiny of men and women.

TRUE GOD

“Unless Jesus Christ is God himself, God the Son incarnate, then the God proclaimed to us in the Gospel is not a God who loves us to the uttermost, but a God whose love falls short of identifying himself with us in Jesus Christ to the extent of actually becoming one with us in and through him.

FULLY FORGIVEN

“Only God can forgive sins, so that unless Christ is God, his word of forgiveness is empty of any divine substance. Unless Christ is of one and the same being as God, as well as of one and the same being as ourselves, then the atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross for us and our salvation is in fact without divine validity or saving power.”

WHOLE IN HIS ‘I AM’

Thus, God is not something else. He is not the law rendered as god. He is not something different to Himself, but God is who He has revealed Himself to be in the person of Jesus Christ. He has no additional referent beyond Himself and our Father. Our salvation is the embrace of God in the person of Jesus Christ so that we are enfolded in the trinity as sons and daughters of God. The oneness that is God makes us one with God.

NOT A GOOD/EVIL CONSTRUCT

It can be argued that all false religions are a variation of the knowledge of good and evil. God is not an abstraction or legal construct. The basis of the cosmos is not the law but the trinity and our inclusion in the communion of the triune God. This is the reality in which we are invited to live in the person of Jesus Christ.

REALISE REALITY

The real God is Jesus Christ. Christ is all and in all. To see Him is to see Father and to know Holy Spirit. To be one with God is to be you. Thus the eucharist is the core of Kingdom Life. ‘Those who eat me will live because of me’. By living oneness with Jesus we become our true selves as sons/daughters of God. Thus the world becomes populated not by those of the beast and his image but with those who are the manifestation of Christ who lives in them and becomes them.

On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. JOHN 14.20 NIV. This is the start of our maturing into the sons/daughters of God.

The mystery of Godliness is that we become holy as God is holy by agreeing with the fact that in Christ we have been included in God. Thus Godliness is the expression of Christ  as us.
